And now, for something different...

Please click the image to see the animation. Taken this evening, when I noticed the traffic looking quite heavy.

Images are unedited apart from resizing and converting to gifs. Three 6 sec exposures, taken consecutively.

woah, how cool is that! First I thought it was just a "normal" photo, so the movement really took me by surprise, I love the composition, too, the circles kind of juxtapose the traffic (mood-wise-speaking, if that makes sense...) :)
:iconmidolluin:
That's pretty cool. Really nice color saturation. It is interesting how the traffic flow pulses, almost like a heart beat, albeit a fast one. Well done.

Surprised you hey? :D Originally I was just trying to get a nice, long exposure photo of the traffic, but as I was flipping through the images on my camera I noticed that the motion looked kind of cool, so decided I had to put them together. Bit of a pity I didn't take more photos, but I'm still pretty happy with it. I'll have to remember to try this with other things in the future :)

Thanks. Mmm, the colours do come out nicely in these long exposures (I particularly like that unnaturally dark blue sky). I never saw it like that, but yes, it is a bit like a heartbeat pulsing, now that you mention it. I thought it was a pity I didn't take more exposures with that tripod setting, but the pulsing is kind of cool in its own way :)

:excited: Yes, I must remember to do more in future. They're so much fun to watch :D
:iconkaddieee:
yes, please do! :D We wanna see more stuff like that! (Although it would've been an awesome shot without the motion, too!)
:iconmidolluin:
Yes, it is. :) So, did you get yourself a "proper" tripod?

Not exactly. Not yet. This one was a real tripod, but just a little one, like before. It's actually a "gorilla-pod". They have bendy legs which can wrap around things, though up to now I've usually just set it on the ground. It's just about 20cm high, but has its uses :) Will get a big one one day...
